Country music star Jelly Roll has announced plans to expose alleged fraudulent practices in the music industry, particularly focusing on fake streaming numbers. The announcement came through social media, where he confirmed previous allegations made by rapper Russ about major record labels purchasing artificial streams.
"This whole thing is smoke and mirrors," Jelly Roll stated, referencing widespread industry manipulation. His claims support Russ's earlier revelations on the "Flagrant" podcast, where the latter described how a small group of executives at major streaming platforms and radio stations control the industry.
According to Russ, the manipulation becomes evident when artists with supposedly high streaming numbers fail to fill venues for live performances. He suggests major labels treat fake streams as a marketing expense, though the exact mechanics of stream manipulation remain undisclosed.
