Spotify and Apple Music have launched a new 'Share to TikTok' feature, allowing users to directly share music content to the social media platform. This integration comes one year after TikTok's "Add to Music App" feature release.

Key Features:

  • Users can share tracks, playlists, albums, podcasts, and audiobooks
  • Content can be shared via TikTok DMs or main feed
  • One-tap access to shared content through respective music platforms
  • Available on both iOS and Android devices

According to Ole Obermann, TikTok's global head of music business development, the "Add to Music App" feature has already generated:

  • Hundreds of millions of track saves
  • Billions of streams on partner music streaming services

This integration follows TikTok's decision to shut down its standalone music service, strengthening partnerships with major streaming platforms. The feature complements similar integrations in the social media space, such as Instagram's "Add Song to Spotify" feature launched in October.

Recent TikTok partnerships also include expanded agreements with ticketing platforms:

  • Ticketmaster
  • AXS
  • CTS Eventim
  • Eventbrite

The new sharing capability aims to enhance music discovery and artist promotion while creating a seamless connection between music streaming services and social media platforms.
