Former Migos member Quavo faces a copyright infringement lawsuit over his 2018 song "Bubble Gum" from his debut solo album, Quavo Huncho. Rapper L.Mont (Lamount London) filed the lawsuit in California, claiming Quavo copied elements from his 2015 song "Bubblegum."

The lawsuit details several key points:

  • L.Mont registered his song with the US copyright office in 2015 and released it on major streaming platforms
  • L.Mont performed as an opening act for 2 Chainz and Migos in New Orleans
  • At an afterparty, L.Mont gave Quavo a demo CD containing the track
  • Quavo allegedly used protected elements from L.Mont's song without authorization

The lawsuit names Universal Music Group as a co-defendant, along with Quality Control Music, Capitol Records, and Motown, who distributed Quavo's track. L.Mont seeks an injunction to stop further distribution of the song, plus damages and attorney fees.
