Neil Young Reverses Decision, Confirms Glastonbury 2025 Headline Performance
Neil Young has reversed his decision and will perform at Glastonbury 2025, following his earlier criticism of the festival's corporate partnerships. The singer initially declined to perform, citing concerns about BBC's involvement and required commitments, but has now clarified there was "an error in the information received."

Young, along with his band The Chrome Hearts, will join Rod Stewart as one of the confirmed headliners for the festival, scheduled for June 25-29 at Worthy Farm. The festival organizers expressed enthusiasm about Young's return, stating, "He does things his own way and that's why we love him. We can't wait to welcome him back here to headline the Pyramid in June."
This development follows Young's previous statement where he called Glastonbury a "corporate turn-off" and expressed concerns about BBC's partnership requirements. His initial objection specifically mentioned that "the BBC was now a partner in Glastonbury and wanted us to do a lot of things in a way we were not interested in."
The complete festival lineup remains pending, with industry speculation suggesting possible appearances by Olivia Rodrigo and The 1975. Rod Stewart, who previously headlined in 2002 alongside Coldplay and Stereophonics, announced his participation in November 2024.
