Bassist Eric Avery recently shared a recording session video on Instagram, confirming collaboration with drummer Stephen Perkins and guitarist Dave Navarro for new material slated for 2025. This development comes four months after an on-stage incident in Boston where Farrell allegedly attacked Navarro, leading to the cancellation of their reunion tour due to what the band cited as Farrell's "continuing pattern of behavior and mental health difficulties."

This isn't the first time the band members have collaborated without Farrell. In 1991, Navarro and Avery formed Deconstruction, releasing one self-titled album in 1994 before Navarro joined Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Navarro recently reflected on the original Deconstruction project, now available on streaming services, describing it as "more cinematic and soundscapey than traditional song-oriented." He praised the album for containing "some of my favorite recorded playing and interplay between E's bass and my guitar."

While the members haven't officially labeled this new collaboration as Deconstruction 2.0, the project marks their first significant musical venture without Farrell since the original Deconstruction release.
