The blocked sites, which received approximately 3 million visits monthly from Italian users, include:

  • ytmp3.nu
  • lumieremusic.net
  • ytmp3.im
  • projectspark.ca
  • downmp3.yt
  • y2meta.app
  • x2mate.com
  • yt5.io

Stream ripping represents 30% of all music piracy in Italy, with overall usage increasing by 10% in early 2024. Italian courts declared stream ripping illegal in 2019, empowering AGCOM to take decisive action against copyright violations.

Recent EU piracy statistics show:

  • Digital piracy increased 3.3% in 2022, reversing a previous downward trend
  • Streaming accounts for 58% of piracy, while downloads represent 32%
  • Content piracy breakdown: TV (48%), publications (28%), films (11%), software (7%), and music (6%)
  • Live sports piracy saw a 30% increase between 2021-2022

"We are proud of the result obtained by FPM thanks to the collaboration of AGCOM," stated Luca Vespignani, General Secretary of FPM and CEO of DcP, highlighting the significant impact on reducing illegal music access in Italy.
