The settlement terms between Drake and iHeartMedia remain undisclosed, with Drake's legal team only stating they reached "an amicable resolution." The original lawsuit, filed in November, accused iHeartMedia of accepting illegal payments from UMG to increase airplay for Lamar's diss track.
Drake's separate lawsuit against UMG, filed in January in New York federal court, remains active. The lawsuit alleges defamation through false accusations of pedophilia in Lamar's "Not Like Us." Drake claims UMG engaged in "irregular and inappropriate business practices" to promote the track, despite knowing it contained damaging false allegations against one of their own artists.
The conflict escalated when Lamar performed "Not Like Us" at the Super Bowl halftime show, albeit with censored content. Despite Drake's legal team warning against the performance, it became the most-watched halftime show in history, partly due to the public interest in the rappers' feud.
The dispute represents one of hip-hop's most significant recent feuds, pitting Drake against Pulitzer Prize-winner Kendrick Lamar. While iHeartMedia's involvement has been resolved, the larger battle with UMG continues, with the label's lawyers seeking dismissal of Drake's petition.
