DJ Envy faces legal scrutiny following his involvement with Cesar Pina's alleged Ponzi scheme real estate operation. The radio personality received a court-ordered subpoena requiring him to produce financial documents related to his business dealings with Pina by January 8.

Pina was arrested in October 2023 for wire fraud, accused of operating a fraudulent house-flipping business that allegedly defrauded investors of millions. While DJ Envy claims to be a victim who lost $500,000 in the scheme, Pina disputes this characterization, stating they were business partners in real estate seminars and transactions.

The court filing warns that failure to comply with the subpoena could result in sanctions against DJ Envy (Raashaun Casey), Cesar Pina, and Jennifer Iturralde Pina for contempt of court.

The case has additional complications, as two investors have filed a separate lawsuit claiming they were defrauded of $1.5 million in a failed apartment complex project that DJ Envy and Pina were involved in. DJ Envy had previously promoted Pina's company on his radio show 'The Breakfast Club.'

Pina, who filed for bankruptcy in August, directly challenged DJ Envy's victim narrative during an Instagram Live stream, stating, "DJ Envy's attorney defense that DJ Envy is a victim—that's the dumbest shit I ever heard in my life. Me and him were partners in the real estate seminars, we were partners in a couple of real estate transactions. That's it. He's not a victim. He was my partner, he was an investor."
