WavMaker, a newly launched music licensing startup targeting video creators, has secured $5 million in seed funding led by Vicky Patel of Monarch Media.

Founded by former Soundstripe executive Matt Arcaini (CEO), industry veteran Mark Stuart (Director of Label Services), and Wavy Records co-founder Caleb Grimm (Director of Marketing), WavMaker aims to revolutionize music licensing for video content creators.

The subscription-based platform addresses common challenges faced by video creators, including limited music libraries, high costs, and complex licensing structures. WavMaker offers a constantly refreshed, pre-licensed music library designed to streamline the creative process.

CEO Matt Arcaini explains: "As a musician and creator myself, I understand the constant struggle to find affordable, quality music for video content. We created WavMaker to offer creators and musicians a mutually beneficial and frustration-free solution."

CTO Jack Whitis, formerly of Soundstripe and Rosie, highlights the platform's technical features, including an intuitive user interface that simplifies music discovery and licensing. The platform is scheduled to launch this month.

The seed funding will support WavMaker's expansion plans, including team growth and enhanced customer outreach efforts. This launch follows recent funding announcements in the music tech space, including Hook's seed round expansion and BeatConnect's $1.86 million raise.
