The film, shot in Cuba, features Glover as a musician and Rihanna as his girlfriend and partner-in-crime. The trailer showcases Glover singing, dancing, and performing, with scenes depicting him being held hostage. A poignant line from the trailer reveals: "We live in a paradise but none of us actually have the time or the means to live here."

Directed by Hiro Murai, who previously helmed Glover's "This Is America" video and episodes of Atlanta, the film is described as an action/crime movie. This project marks a significant shift for Glover, who recently announced his retirement from performing under the Childish Gambino moniker.

The PHAROS festival was specifically chosen for the trailer reveal, as Glover considers it "a gathering of the five intuitives of the human experience: tribe, ritual, experience abstraction, architecture, language."

Due to a foot injury, Glover's "This Is America" tour dates have been rescheduled, with Los Angeles performances at The Forum moved to December 16 & 17. Glover has not yet responded to requests for comment about the trailer.
