Universal Music Group (UMG) has partnered with Los Angeles-based AI music company KLAY to develop an ethical foundation for AI-generated music that respects creators' rights and copyright laws.

The collaboration aims to create a commercial model that enhances musical creativity while protecting human artistry. KLAY is developing a Large Music Model (KLAYMM) that will advance Music AI technology while ensuring proper attribution and avoiding competition with artists' existing catalogs on traditional music services.
