Taylor Swift has announced her '1989' concert film will be exclusively available on Apple Music starting December 20th, continuing her boycott of Spotify. The film, directed by Jonas Akerlund, features a full concert recorded at ANZ Stadium in Sydney, along with behind-the-scenes footage and special guest appearances.

Swift previously criticized Spotify, calling it a "start-up with no cash flow" and claiming it "reacted to criticism like a corporate machine." In contrast, she praised Apple Music, stating "Apple treated me like I was a voice of a creative community that they actually cared about."

The concert film will only be accessible to Apple Music subscribers or those on the three-month trial period. This exclusive release follows Swift's pattern of withholding her content from Spotify, though the streaming platform is approaching 100 million users despite these high-profile holdouts.

This situation highlights ongoing tensions between artists and streaming platforms. Spotify recently announced plans to allow certain artists to restrict their content to paying subscribers only, marking a shift from CEO Daniel Ek's previous stance. This change may have been influenced by other major artists like Adele and Coldplay following Swift's approach to streaming releases.
