Talib Kweli Confirms He's Not the Voice Behind Popular Amazon Christmas Commercial Despite Annual Congratulations
Every holiday season, rapper Talib Kweli faces congratulations for an Amazon Prime Christmas commercial he didn't create. Despite the voice in the ad sounding remarkably similar to his, Kweli has officially confirmed it's not him.

The commercial actually features "A Good Time Coming (March of the Nutcracker)" by Tez Tez featuring Black Prez, released in 2022. The song blends Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker" with modern hip-hop elements.
Addressing the confusion on Bluesky, Kweli stated: "Every holiday season people congratulate me on having my song used in an Amazon ad... Here's the thing tho... I've never had a song used in an Amazon ad. That's not me. That's just someone who sounds like me."
Some fans have suggested legal action, citing potential violations of "Right of Publicity" and "Intentional Misrepresentation." However, the legal implications of having a similar-sounding voice remain unclear.
The misidentification is particularly notable given Kweli's known support for Amazon workers' strikes, making his participation in an Amazon commercial unlikely in the first place.
