Dame Dash recently revealed that Jay-Z's collaboration with R. Kelly was the primary reason for their split at Roc-A-Fella Records. During an interview with 'The Art of Dialogue,' Dash expressed his deep discomfort with the partnership, given R. Kelly's controversial history with Aaliyah, Dash's former girlfriend.

"The fact that Jay was fucking with him is what used to blow my mind more than anything," Dash stated, emphasizing his bewilderment at Jay-Z's willingness to work with R. Kelly despite knowing about Kelly's marriage to a 15-year-old Aaliyah.

Dash confronted Jay-Z about the collaboration, asking how he could work with someone who had reportedly victimized someone close to him. According to Dash, Jay-Z's response was dismissive, claiming he "ain't have nothing to do with that."

The situation ultimately led to Dash's departure from Roc-A-Fella Records. "I left Roc-A-Fella. It wasn't that I got kicked out; I left. I said 'fuck all the money, fuck all this shit. I'm out,'" Dash explained.

Recently, Dash's share in Jay-Z's album "Reasonable Doubt" was sold at auction for $1 million. The proceeds will go toward settling his $8.7 million tax debt, an $800,000 lawsuit settlement, and $145,000 in unpaid child support.

Jay-Z is currently facing separate legal challenges, defending himself against allegations in a civil lawsuit regarding an alleged incident at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards.
