SoundCloud has introduced a new "Artist" subscription tier designed to bridge the gap between its Basic and Artist Pro (formerly Next Pro) plans, making professional music distribution more accessible to emerging artists.

The new Artist tier costs $3.25 monthly or $39 annually in the U.S. and includes:

  • 3 hours of upload time per month
  • Distribution of 2 tracks monthly to major platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, TikTok)
  • Monetization on SoundCloud and other platforms
  • One monthly credit for AI mastering

This new tier provides essential professional tools at a significantly lower price point than the Pro tier ($8.25/month), making it more accessible for artists just starting their careers. The platform successfully piloted the program in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand before the wider rollout.

Since acquiring Repost in 2019, SoundCloud has been expanding its artist services platform with new features including:

  • Enhanced monetization tools
  • Merchandise stores
  • The "Ascending" artist development program
  • Global artist promotion opportunities

The "Ascending" program, launched earlier this year, has already helped promote breakthrough artists like Shaboozey, Barry Can't Swim, and Kenya Grace, demonstrating SoundCloud's commitment to supporting artists at every stage of their careers.
