Sean 'Diddy' Combs: Government Denies Leaking Cassie Hotel Attack Video to CNN
Sean 'Diddy' Combs is denying involvement in the leak of hotel security footage showing him attacking Cassie Ventura in 2016. The footage, which surfaced on CNN in May, led to Combs publicly apologizing for actions he had previously denied.

Federal prosecutors have firmly rejected Combs' accusations, stating they neither possessed nor leaked the video. In their response to the court, prosecutors confirmed they did not obtain the footage through grand jury proceedings, and Homeland Security Investigations had not accessed it before CNN's publication.
Combs, currently held without bail, faces serious charges including sex trafficking, transportation to engage in prostitution, and racketeering conspiracy. His legal team argues that ongoing leaks have created prejudicial publicity that could compromise his right to a fair trial.
His defense attorneys, Marc Agnifilo and Teny Geragos, are pushing for a trial date in April or May 2025. Meanwhile, Combs continues to maintain his innocence, pleading not guilty to all charges while simultaneously dealing with multiple civil lawsuits from alleged victims.
