Nelly Joins Trump Inauguration Ball Lineup as Arctic Blast Hits DC
Grammy-winning rapper Nelly has been announced as a late addition to perform at Trump's Inaugural Liberty Ball, one of three official inaugural balls scheduled for Monday, January 20th.
Known for hits like "Country Grammar," "Ride Wit Me," and "Hot In Herre," Nelly defended his decision to perform during a live conversation with rapper Willie D, emphasizing his respect for the office regardless of who holds it.
"I'm not doing this for money. I'm doing this 'cause it's an honor. I respect the office," stated Nelly, who was born on a military base in St. Louis. He drew parallels to military service members who serve regardless of who occupies the presidency, noting his own family's military background.

Other performers at the inauguration events include:
- Carrie Underwood (performing "America the Beautiful")
- Kid Rock
- Billy Ray Cyrus
- Lee Greenwood
Due to an arctic blast bringing temperatures down to the low 20s in Washington, D.C., Trump has announced the inauguration ceremony will be moved inside the Capitol building.
