NBA YoungBoy Gets 23 Months Prison Sentence and 5 Years Probation for Firearm Possession
NBA YoungBoy faces 23 months in federal prison and 60 months' probation for firearm possession as a convicted felon. The sentence stems from his 2020 arrest during a music video shoot in Baton Rouge, where he and 15 others were detained with multiple firearms seized from the set.

Currently serving time in Utah since May for weapon possession charges and unlawful activity, Gaulden (YoungBoy's legal name) could see his remaining sentence reduced to approximately 12 months due to time served. The rapper was previously under house arrest in Utah following a 2019 Miami shooting incident.
In November, Gaulden pleaded guilty to his involvement in a prescription drug fraud operation run from his Utah mansion. Charges included identity fraud, forgery, and unlawful pharmacy conduct, with him entering a "no contest" plea to the remaining counts from 46 total charges.
Despite legal troubles, YoungBoy maintained significant commercial success, with five of his eight 2022 releases reaching the Billboard 200's Top 10. His album "The Last Slimeto" peaked at #2, marking his final release under Atlantic Records before signing with Motown.
