Jay-Z Files 236-Page Lawsuit Against Attorney Over Rape Allegations, Claims Extortion
Jay-Z has revealed himself as the anonymous plaintiff who filed an extortion lawsuit against attorney Tony Buzbee in November, following rape allegations made against him in a 236-page filing.
The lawsuit stems from accusations by a Jane Doe, who claims she was assaulted by Jay-Z (Shawn Carter) when she was 13 years old at a 2000 VMAs afterparty. The accuser, now 37, originally identified Carter as "Celebrity A" in her lawsuit, which was recently updated to include his name.

Carter's attorney, Alex Spiro, has filed a response requesting the court compel Jane Doe to reveal her identity for litigation to proceed. The 236-page extortion lawsuit reveals Buzbee has allegedly accused Carter of sexually assaulting both a male and female minor.
The filing states: "Plaintiff John Doe is the victim of a scheme by Defendant Anthony G. Buzbee and his firm [...], who are shamelessly attempting to extort exorbitant sums from him or else publicly file wildly false horrific allegations against him."
Buzbee denies all wrongdoing and has taken to social media, accusing Jay-Z of orchestrating a campaign of "harassment" and "bullying" against him and his family. Carter's legal team has included these social media posts in Monday's filing as evidence of what they claim are Buzbee's attempts at blackmail and public defamation.
