Country music rising star Megan Moroney is set to headline a Spotify-sponsored concert on November 15 at the Georgia Theater in Athens, Georgia, ahead of the SEC rivalry game between Georgia and Tennessee.
The free concert begins at 7 p.m. CT, featuring Georgia natives Lily Rose as host and Mackenzie Carpenter as opening act. Priority entry will be given to University of Georgia and University of Tennessee students, along with Moroney's top Spotify listeners. Attendees will receive football-themed merchandise and a complimentary month of Spotify Premium for Students.
The event celebrates Moroney's hit song "Tennessee Orange," which tells the story of a Georgia native falling for a Tennessee fan. For Moroney, this performance marks a significant return to the Georgia Theater, where she first performed in 2017 as a student opening for Chase Rice.
2024 has proven transformative for Moroney's career, featuring both headlining tours and opening performances for Kenny Chesney's "Sun Goes Down" tour. Her success continues to grow, establishing her as one of country music's most promising new artists.
The Academy of Country Music Award winner's upcoming performance not only showcases her musical journey but also highlights her connection to both universities involved in the historic rivalry.
