Among the nominees, Mariah Carey stands out with 19 Billboard Hot 100 #1 hits, while Chubby Checker's "The Twist" and "Let's Twist Again" helped shape early rock and roll in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
Selection Process:

- Artists must have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years ago
- Criteria include musical impact, career longevity, and innovation
The inductees will be announced in late April, with additional honorees in three committee categories: musical influence, musical excellence, and the Ahmet Ertegun Non-Performer Award. The induction ceremony will take place in Los Angeles this fall.
The 2024 class included Mary J. Blige, Cher, Foreigner, A Tribe Called Quest, Kool & The Gang, Ozzy Osbourne, Dave Matthews Band, and Peter Frampton.
