In a recent interview with The Los Angeles Times, Mariah Carey expressed her disappointment about not being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, noting that her own lawyer, Allen Grubman, was inducted before her.

Grubman, who was inducted in 2022 in the Ahmet Ertegun Award category, is one of the Rock Hall's founders and has represented numerous notable artists including Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, and Elton John. Carey became eligible for nomination in 2015, marking 25 years since her debut album's release.

The situation highlights ongoing discussions about the Hall of Fame's selection process. Former co-founder Jann Wenner criticized Grubman's induction, suggesting it was influenced by business interests rather than musical merit.

Meanwhile, Carey continues to build her legacy with an upcoming 2024 Christmas Tour, a Las Vegas residency, and is reportedly working on new music with "nine or ten" songs in development. She's also partnered with Amazon Music for Christmas merchandise, embracing her "Queen of Christmas" title.
