Founded in 2021 through a partnership with Platoon, Arden Records was established by lo-fi pioneer sagun alongside music executives Jordan Smith and Andrew Kwan. The label focuses exclusively on lo-fi music, providing a supportive environment for artists, producers, and songwriters.

The label's current roster includes notable artists such as sagun, clay house, DAVI JUNO, French WiFi, Maono, mellodaze, NueBoo, pecna, Sleep Culture, The Tea Shop, Trankilo, URCHN, and wrongnumber.

Lo-fi's rising popularity has made its producers and songwriters increasingly valuable in the music industry. A recent example is Arden's own sagun, who produced and co-wrote UMI's 2024 single "wherever u r," featuring BTS member V.

The new publishing division aims to:

  • Support producers and songwriters as independent artists
  • Streamline royalty collection processes
  • Create new opportunities within the broader music industry
  • Protect artists' creative rights
  • Facilitate collaboration with mainstream artists

"After three years of seeing how powerful a unified roster of artists can be, we are launching our publishing arm to explore a new creative workflow for our Arden Records' family," states co-founder Jordan Smith. The company will focus on showcasing the versatility of lo-fi producers while maintaining its commitment to authentic, human-created music in an era of increasing AI-generated content.

The expansion represents Arden's continued dedication to artist development and fair treatment within the lo-fi genre, establishing new pathways for creative collaboration and commercial success.
