Live Nation CFO Confident of Victory in US Government Antitrust Lawsuit: "We're Going to Prevail"
Live Nation's CFO Joe Berchtold expressed confidence about the company's position in the ongoing antitrust lawsuit filed by the U.S. Justice Department and 39 state attorneys general against Live Nation and Ticketmaster.

Speaking at the Bank of America conference, Berchtold stated, "I expect we're going to prevail," and indicated that major operational changes aren't anticipated during the legal process. The trial is expected to begin in early 2026, following a period of discovery and depositions throughout 2025.
Regarding Ticketmaster's relationship with Live Nation, Berchtold characterized it as a "nice complement" while emphasizing that the companies operate separately. He confirmed strong consumer demand for live events and robust artist interest in touring globally.
Addressing criticism about high ticket prices and availability issues, Berchtold acknowledged the inherent challenges of supply and demand, particularly for high-profile events like Taylor Swift's 'Eras Tour.' He emphasized the company's commitment to improving communication and transparency with fans, though noting the reality of limited ticket availability for popular shows.
Ticketmaster has recently implemented all-in pricing in certain jurisdictions, showing final ticket prices upfront, though this practice is currently limited to areas where it's legally required. The outcome of the DOJ's antitrust case will likely influence future pricing and operational practices for both companies.
