Liam Payne's close friend and two others face charges in connection with the singer's tragic death in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in October 2024. The former One Direction star was 31 when he fell from a hotel balcony.

Prosecutors have charged Rogelio 'Roger' Nores, described as Payne's "self-proclaimed manager," with "abandoning a person followed by death," carrying a potential 5-15 year prison sentence. Two hotel employees also face charges for allegedly facilitating access to controlled substances and failing to intervene.

Investigation findings reveal that Payne had consumed a combination of alcohol, cocaine, and antidepressants in the days before his death. Nores denies the allegations, stating he visited Payne three times that day and left just 40 minutes before the incident, with the singer surrounded by approximately 15 people in the lobby.

Prosecutor Andrea Esteban Madrea's 180-page report details the timeline and evidence leading to these charges. The investigation highlights concerns about the failure to inform Payne's family about his relapse and the lack of intervention during his apparent distress.

Payne's body has been returned to the UK, where a private funeral is planned. Former One Direction bandmates and Payne's partner, Kate Cassidy, are expected to attend. The investigation continues as authorities work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the singer's death.
