Time is running out to claim your $1,400 stimulus check from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. If you never received your payment, you must file a tax return by April 15, 2025, to receive the money you're entitled to.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Single filers: Income up to $75,000 (phases out at $80,000)
  • Married filing jointly: Income up to $150,000 (phases out at $160,000)
  • Each qualifying dependent adds $1,400
  • Income based on 2021 tax year

How to Claim Your Payment:

  1. File a 2021 tax return before April 15, 2025
  2. Claim the Recovery Rebate Credit
  3. Provide direct deposit information for faster payment

Important Notes:

  • Filing a 2021 return is required even if you weren't obligated to file taxes that year
  • The IRS automatically sends payments to those who filed returns with corrected Recovery Rebate Credit information
  • You must act before April 15, 2025 - after this date, unclaimed payments are forfeited
  • This applies to the third stimulus payment of $1,400 only

If you're unsure whether you received your payment, check your bank records from 2021 or create an account on the IRS website to view your payment history. Don't leave money on the table - verify your eligibility and file your return before the deadline.
