This collaboration builds on Lamar's existing relationship with Marvel, following his successful curation of the Black Panther soundtrack in 2018. The announcement comes after Lamar's record-breaking Super Bowl halftime performance, which saw a 3% viewership increase over Usher's 2024 show.
The new track will be Lamar's first solo release of 2025, following his sixth studio album GNX from November and his Grammy-winning Drake-diss track "Not Like Us." His song "N95" has already appeared in the film's teaser trailer, though Mackie's comments suggest a new, original track is coming.
'Captain America: Brave New World' premieres this Friday, February 14, featuring Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, alongside Harrison Ford, Giancarlo Esposito, Danny Ramirez, Carl Lumbly, and Tim Blake Nelson. The film marks Mackie's first leading role as Captain America, taking over from Chris Evans' Steve Rogers.
