In her recent Los Angeles court filing, Jane Doe states she refused to recant her story when approached by Jay-Z's investigators, describing the experience as "intimidating and terrifying." She explains she dropped the initial lawsuit due to fears of public exposure and backlash from Jay-Z's supporters, not because her claims were false.
The accuser directly contradicts allegations in Jay-Z's defamation countersuit, which claims she admitted to fabricating her story. She specifically denies that her attorney, Tony Buzbee, pushed her to include Jay-Z in the allegations or sought her out for the case.
However, Carter's legal team has filed new documents including sworn statements from private investigators who claim Jane Doe told them Buzbee pressured her into pursuing the case against Jay-Z for a potential payout. Carter's lawyers are now requesting permission to depose both Jane Doe and Buzbee under oath.
Buzbee strongly refutes these claims, stating another law firm initially took on the case in October before referring it to his firm. He maintains that documentation proves he neither suggested nor pushed for the lawsuit against Jay-Z.
Jay-Z continues to deny all allegations, characterizing the situation as a "blackmail attempt." He accuses Buzbee of attempting to extort settlements by falsely connecting celebrities to Sean "Diddy" Combs, who currently faces federal charges in New York.
