The deal would mark a significant shift for the venue, which has primarily featured acts appealing to older audiences, including U2, The Eagles, and The Dead. Styles, who previously sold out 15 shows at Madison Square Garden in 2022, would bring fresh contemporary appeal to the high-tech venue.

The Sphere's owner James Dolan appears confident in securing Styles despite the venue's current financial performance. While concert events generally generate less revenue than the venue's daily film screenings, including "Postcards From Earth" and "V-U2: An Immersive Concert Film," Styles' proven track record suggests potential for strong ticket sales.

Before Styles' potential residency, the Sphere will host Kenny Chesney for 18 shows in May and June, followed by the Backstreet Boys' 18-show run through mid-August.

Styles has maintained a relatively low profile since concluding his Love On Tour in 2023. His most recent public appearances include running the Tokyo Marathon in February 2024 and attending a U2 concert at the Sphere in November with his girlfriend.
