Ghislaine Maxwell Prosecutor Maurene Comey Joins Federal Case Against Diddy
Maurene Comey, who successfully prosecuted Ghislaine Maxwell in 2021, has joined the Department of Justice's prosecution team in the sex trafficking case against Sean "Diddy" Combs. As daughter of former FBI director James Comey, she brings significant experience in handling high-profile trafficking cases.

The court has denied Combs bail for the third time, citing his alleged history of violence and intimidation tactics, including the use of firearms, kidnapping, and arson. The ruling states that "no conditions of release can assure the safety of the community."
Combs' defense team, led by Marc Agnifilo, continues to challenge the prosecution. They recently requested a court order to prevent potential jurors from considering allegedly leaked evidence, including 2016 hotel surveillance footage showing Combs assaulting former girlfriend Cassie Ventura. The defense claims the Department of Homeland Security leaked this footage to CNN to influence the grand jury.
The court has ordered prosecutors to submit an affidavit confirming they were not the source of the leaks, as the government is prohibited from revealing grand jury proceedings.
Agnifilo, who previously worked with Harvey Weinstein's lawyer Ben Brafman for nearly two decades, has represented numerous high-profile clients including Martin Shkreli, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, Roger Ng, and NXIVM leader Keith Raniere.
