The band confirmed the news on social media, stating "In 2023, Dead & Company played their final tour. But there are other ways to make sure the music never stops." This announcement comes after their farewell tour's final show at San Francisco's Oracle Park in July.

The $2.3 billion Sphere venue, owned by MSG's James Dolan, has also secured Phish for a four-night run in April, with potential talks ongoing with other artists, including Beyoncé.

The residency format particularly appeals to the band members due to its stationary nature, eliminating the need for extensive travel. The official announcement is expected this week, though representatives for both the Sphere and Dead & Company have not yet commented.

The Sphere, which opened last year, is located on land leased from the Venetian, which recently opened its own concert venue, The Voltaire, currently hosting Christina Aguilera's residency through March.
