Country Star Jimmie Allen's Label Freezes Activity Following Sexual Assault Claims
BBR Music Group has suspended country singer Jimmie Allen following sexual assault allegations made in a lawsuit filed by a former team member. The suspension was announced on May 11, 2023, after the lawsuit became public.
The lawsuit, filed in Tennessee civil court, alleges that Allen committed rape and sexual assault over an 18-month period. The accuser, who remains anonymous, claims sexual battery, assault, false imprisonment, sex trafficking, and emotional distress.

The lawsuit also names Allen's former manager Ash Bowers and Wide Open Music as defendants, alleging they knew about Allen's behavior when assigning the victim to work with him. Elizabeth Fegan, the accuser's attorney, states that Wide Open Music failed to protect their client despite knowing Allen's history of questionable behavior around women.
Allen has denied the allegations, stating the relationship was consensual. Wide Open Music has confirmed they stopped working with Allen after learning of the accusations and has since transitioned out of artist management.
The Country Music Association has removed Allen from the 2024 CMA Fest lineup, where he was scheduled to perform at Nashville's Nissan Stadium on June 11 alongside artists including Ashley McBryde, Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, and Tim McGraw.
