Kendrick Lamar's Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show has drawn criticism from media personality Charlamagne Tha God for its heavy focus on the ongoing Drake feud.

Speaking on The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne argued that despite "Not Like Us" being a Grammy-winning hit in 2024, Lamar should have avoided performing the Drake diss track on such a prominent stage.

"Kendrick is bigger than 'Not Like Us.' It's a moment in time for Kendrick; it does not define him or who he is," Charlamagne stated. He further criticized the "game over" message displayed at the end of the performance, suggesting Lamar had gone too far in victory.

The 13-minute performance faced potential legal challenges from Drake's team, who threatened litigation against Universal Music Group if the song was performed. While Lamar censored the word "pedophile," he kept other controversial Drake references intact, including "Say Drake, I hear you like 'em young" and "Tryna strike a chord and it's probably A minor."

The show featured notable appearances from SZA, with whom Lamar is touring, and Serena Williams - both former Drake romantic interests. Williams surprised the audience with a crip walk performance on an elevated stage.

The halftime show set a new viewership record, peaking at 135.7 million viewers during Lamar's performance - surpassing both Usher's recent show and Michael Jackson's iconic 1993 performance.
