The controversy emerged when listeners noticed similarities between the two songs, particularly in their vocal arrangements where both tracks feature chanted names throughout - "Jennie" in one and "Rani" in the other.
Pritam, who composed "Rani's Theme," took to Instagram to dismiss the plagiarism claims, explaining that similar-sounding names naturally create comparable flows. He emphasized that minor musical similarities are inevitable, especially when considering rhyming patterns and genre conventions.
"In today's interconnected world, where artists share the same platforms, no one is deliberately trying to copy someone else's work," Pritam stated. He suggested that if artists truly connect with each other's ideas, collaboration would be a more constructive approach than accusations.
The composer called for unity between fandoms, encouraging celebration of artistic works rather than criticism. While Jennie has not commented on the controversy, Pritam's statement effectively defends both artists' creative integrity and calls for an end to the debate.
