AXS Launches Biometric Authentication for Concert Tickets with Fingerprint and Face ID Access
AXS has introduced biometric authentication for concert tickets through their mobile app, allowing customers to access tickets and accounts using fingerprint and facial recognition technology.
This new feature eliminates the need for passwords and physical ticket handling at venues. According to AXS Chief Product Officer Justin Burleigh, the technology enhances security while streamlining the ticketing process for event attendees.

Key benefits include:
- Simplified account recovery
- Password-free access
- Enhanced security measures
- Streamlined venue entry
The implementation may affect the secondary ticket market by making unauthorized ticket resales and account transfers more difficult, primarily impacting non-AEG platforms.
Important considerations:
- Privacy concerns similar to those raised during Ticketmaster's facial recognition rollout in 2018
- Some venues already use facial recognition for all attendees regardless of consent
- BTS agency Hybe recently announced "Face Pass" for their shows
- Technology could expand to include VIP access and additional features
The move comes as Live Nation (NYSE: LYV) reached a new 52-week high of $140.94 per share, highlighting the growing interest in technological solutions within the live entertainment industry.
