Ariana Grande advocates for record labels to provide mandatory therapy sessions for young artists, drawing from her personal experiences with early fame at age 19. During her appearance on Marc Maron's "WTF" podcast, the 31-year-old superstar emphasized the importance of mental health support for artists facing sudden fame.

Grande specifically calls for therapy sessions to be included in artist contracts, stating that studios and labels should make this "non-negotiable" since they understand how fame can negatively impact young performers. She points out that artists are particularly vulnerable due to their emotional nature, making professional mental health support essential.

The singer shared her own challenges dealing with public scrutiny, including body image issues, relationship rumors, and speculation about her personal life. "It's impossible to navigate," she explained, noting that these pressures began when she was still a teenager on Nickelodeon's "Victorious."

Her advocacy aligns with recent industry discussions about artist welfare, following Chappell Roan's Grammy acceptance speech. Grande suggests that therapy sessions should be mandatory "several times a week" for artists signing deals that will significantly impact their lives.

Grande previously discussed similar concerns on Penn Badgley's "Podcrushed" podcast, where she spoke about "reprocessing" her early career experiences. She emphasized that many young performers lack adequate support systems, calling for safer entertainment industry environments overall.
