Andrew Gialanella's journey into music began at age twelve when he picked up one of his family's guitars out of boredom. As an introverted child, he found the instrument offered a wordless form of self-expression that resonated deeply with him.

After playing in bands throughout high school and college at the University of Georgia, Gialanella reached a pivotal moment when he chose sobriety. This decision led him to temporarily step away from live performances and explore recording and production, particularly focusing on instrumental guitar music.

His music evolved to become more peaceful and melodic, reflecting his personal growth. "Melody is the centerpiece because there are no lyrics. I try to focus on stuff you might want to whistle to or hum to later," Gialanella explains.

His creative process is spontaneous and therapeutic, often starting with guitar improvisations captured as voice memos before heading straight to the studio. Despite his electric guitar background, Gialanella has developed a particular fondness for acoustic guitar's "organic and earthy" sound.

Nature plays a significant role in his creative process. "I love being outside on a sunny day, under a tree in the shade — that's my happy place," he says. This connection to nature influences both his music production and video content.

His song "Another Year" went viral in early 2023 and again in 2024, reaching listeners who use his music for daily activities and stress relief. Many fans have shared how his music helps them through difficult times, serving as a comforting presence.

As an independent artist partnered with Downtown Music, Gialanella values the control over his destiny and ownership of his masters. He appreciates Downtown's understanding of how different types of music perform across various platforms, noting that his catalog is "in really good hands."

Gialanella focuses on spreading positivity through his music while building conversations around wellness, mindfulness, and self-care. "That's the kind of energy I'm trying to put out into the world. A place of: things are going to be okay," he concludes.
