The victims included Ward (37), his fiancee Zelena, and their friends Audrey Maris Ross (29) and Amanda Lynn Leroux (30). The crash occurred just after 9 PM when their Subaru SUV, while pulling out of a driveway, was struck by a BMW driven by Nicholas Shane Meeks (31).
Meeks has been charged with four counts of felony DUI involving death and was denied bond. Court records reveal he was driving with a suspended license and had a previous DUI charge from March 2024, to which he pled guilty in May.
Ward's band Voraath had recently celebrated significant milestones, including the release of their debut full-length album "Vol. 1: The Hymn of the Hunters" in June 2024. A GoFundMe campaign for Ward has raised over $20,000.
Earlier on the day of the accident, Ward had shared a New Year's message on Facebook with a photo of himself and his young son, Kai.
