Kordl aims to replace existing legacy platforms by providing a unified gateway for managing prestigious rental catalogs. The platform integrates all aspects of rental and rights management, including:

  • Ordering and fulfillment
  • Returns processing
  • Rights approvals
  • Direct customer communication

The B2B platform offers customization options for publishers and will soon expand to include recorded music licensing and sync rights. Lorenzo Brewer, Nkoda's co-founder and CEO, emphasizes that their extensive experience with major publishers positions them to create an intuitive, robust, and future-proof solution.

Notable aspects of this partnership include:

  • Universal Music's involvement aligns with their classical streaming service Stage+ (operated via Deutsche Grammophon)
  • Wise Music recently divested its education division
  • Nkoda operates ARIA-i, an AI-powered music education tool

This transition from existing platforms (including Zinfonia) represents a significant shift in the music rental and licensing landscape, though the complete implementation timeline remains to be announced.
