TikTok Launches 32-Person Group Chats to Enhance In-App Messaging

TikTok has introduced group chat functionality, allowing up to 32 users to interact and share videos within the platform. This feature enables users to watch, comment, and react to content together without switching to external messaging apps.
Key Features:
- Maximum 32 participants per group chat
- Available to users aged 15 and above
- Mutual follower requirement for adding members
- Built-in safety measures for teens (16-17)
- Muting, blocking, and reporting tools
Safety Measures:
- Teen users must review and approve new chat members
- Limits on group creation and message forwarding
- Community Guidelines enforcement
- Mutual friend requirement for teen invites
How to Create a Group Chat:
- Tap "Chat" at the top of your TikTok inbox
- Select "More Options"
- Choose friends to include
- Tap "Start Group Chat"
To join an existing group chat, simply tap the invite and select "Join Group."
TikTok is also planning to introduce custom stickers in direct messages, further enhancing the chat experience.
