Tekashi 6ix9ine has negotiated a deal for his prison release after violating parole conditions. The agreement includes one month in jail followed by three months of home incarceration with electronic monitoring.
The rapper, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, will appear at a November 12 hearing to admit to the violations. Judge Paul A. Englemayer will oversee the sentencing, which includes one year of supervision from the court's Probation Department after release.
The October 29 arrest came after Tekashi violated travel permission requirements and failed mandatory drug tests. This occurred just months before he was set to complete his court supervision period.
Background: In 2019, Tekashi received a two-year prison sentence for racketeering, weapons possession, and conspiracy charges related to his involvement with the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods gang. The sentence included a $35,000 fine, five years of supervised release, and 1,000 hours of community service.
He was previously released early in April 2020 due to COVID-19 concerns related to his asthma and bronchitis. Judge Englemayer expressed disappointment in the rapper's failure to comply with release conditions after receiving this compassionate release.
During the recent proceedings, Tekashi apologized to the judge and insisted he is not a bad person.
