Swae Lee is desperately searching for a lost hard drive containing hundreds of unreleased songs, offering a $20,000 reward for its safe return. The device was misplaced at Los Angeles International Airport's Terminal 2, a Delta Airlines hub.

The 27-year-old rapper had plans to release his second studio album, Human Nature, in January 2021, along with two additional albums throughout the year. The lost hard drive contains his entire music catalog, including numerous unreleased tracks.

"I GOT MY WHOLE LIFE ON THAT S--T!!!" Lee posted on social media, expressing his distress with a broken-heart emoji. Despite Delta Airlines' policy to assist with lost items, the hard drive remains missing.

Fan reactions suggest the $20,000 reward might be too low, considering Swae Lee's streaming success. His 1.1 billion Spotify streams in 2020 alone generated between $3.3 million and $5.5 million in royalties.

Similar incidents have occurred in the music industry:

  • Skrillex lost two hard drives in Milan (2011) containing a new album and project files
  • Ryan Leslie's laptop theft in Germany (2010) led to a costly legal battle after offering a $1 million reward

This incident serves as a crucial reminder about the importance of data backup in the music industry. While Delta continues searching for the device, Lee's unreleased music collection remains at risk.
