Spotify Reverses Car Thing Refund Decision Following Lawsuit Pressure
Spotify has reversed its initial stance on Car Thing refunds following a class action lawsuit. The company will now offer refunds to customers who purchased the $90 device directly from Spotify, as the device will become unusable after a firmware update on December 9, 2024.

The decision comes after Car Thing owners filed a lawsuit claiming they weren't informed the device would have such a short lifespan. While Spotify discontinued production in July 2022, they had promised continued support for existing users.
