Kingston's mother, Janice Turner, was also arrested during the raid. The charges against Kingston include:
- Multiple counts of identity fraud
- Issuing faulty checks
- Probation violation for trafficking stolen property
- Grand theft from a luxury car dealership
Kingston is currently held without bail in San Bernardino county jail, awaiting an extradition hearing to return to Florida. His mother faces eight charges but has posted bail.
According to authorities, Kingston and Turner allegedly defrauded multiple businesses, with jewelry alone valued at approximately $480,000. Kingston's attorney, Robert Rosenblatt, stated to NBC News that they plan to challenge the case, arguing it's "merely a civil case and not criminal."
Kingston, whose legal name is Kisean Paul Anderson, is best known for his 2007 hit "Beautiful Girls" and his collaboration with Justin Bieber on "Eenie Meenie," though he hasn't released music under a major label in over a decade.
