Rosé Exits KOMCA Following Global Solo Success as YG Plus Stock Soars
Blackpink's Rosé has officially withdrawn her music from the Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA), becoming only the second artist in history to do so after Seo Tai-ji in 2003.

The Auckland-born artist initiated the KOMCA exit in October 2024, receiving final approval in January 2025. This move comes amid her growing international success, particularly with her English-language releases through Warner Music's Atlantic Records, while maintaining her position with YG Entertainment as part of Blackpink.
Her recent Bruno Mars collaboration "APT." has achieved remarkable success, accumulating 1.24 billion Spotify streams in just over four months. Rosé currently leads Blackpink members in streaming numbers with 63.88 million monthly Spotify listeners, compared to Jennie (42.47 million), Lisa (23.25 million), and Jisoo (7.87 million).
The decision to leave KOMCA likely stems from practical considerations regarding international royalty collection. Industry insiders note that KOMCA typically requires six months to a year to process U.S. payments, potentially affecting artists with significant global reach.
This development has positively impacted YG Entertainment's market performance, with its rights-focused subsidiary YG Plus experiencing a 36% stock price increase following the announcement. YG Entertainment's stock has risen 44.5% over the past year, trading at $41.22/₩59,100 per share.
Blackpink fans can look forward to the group's comeback tour, scheduled to begin in Seoul on July 5th, marking another milestone in their continuing success story.
