Alt-pop artist Izzy MacArthur releases her debut EP 'Blame It On A Bad Dream' today, following an innovative social media scavenger hunt with fans who pre-saved her single "Landmines."

The 5-track EP explores themes of personal growth, uncertainty, and late-night reflections as MacArthur navigates young adulthood. With over 98,000 Spotify streams from just four previous releases, this EP showcases her emerging talent for storytelling through deliberate songwriting.

The EP features collaborations with Spencer Hattendorf, Nate Mondschein, and Fran Litterski (known for work with Danielle Bradbury and Mary Kutter). The opening track "Light Sleeper" inspired the EP's title and represents MacArthur's cyclical thought patterns during its creation.

MacArthur's musical influences include contemporary artists like Lorde, Sam Fender, and The 1975, alongside childhood favorites such as Fall Out Boy, Catfish and the Bottlemen, and Bon Iver. Her confessional writing style and unabashed lyrics showcase a confident new voice in alt-pop, while maintaining a delicate balance when addressing personal and mental health themes.
