Mariah Carey quickly dispelled rumors that her 2024 Spotify Wrapped thank-you message was AI-generated, responding directly to fan speculation on social media.

"Bad lighting and a red lip have you all thinking this is AI??" Carey tweeted, addressing comments questioning the authenticity of her video message. "There's a reason I'm not a fan of either of those things!"

The video features Carey in festive attire, thanking fans for their support and highlighting the 30th anniversary of her "Merry Christmas" album. She also teased upcoming new music releases.

The Queen of Christmas recorded this message as part of Spotify Wrapped 2024's artist thank-you initiative, which launched December 4. Her holiday classic "All I Want For Christmas Is You" has already returned to the Billboard Hot 100's Top 10, reaching #10 this week.

Carey is currently concluding her 2024 holiday tour, with performances scheduled through December 17, ending with a show in Brooklyn.
