Judge Orders Diplo's Revenge Porn Accuser to Reveal Identity, Ending 'Jane Doe' Status
A Los Angeles federal judge has ruled that the woman accusing Diplo of revenge porn must reveal her identity to proceed with her civil lawsuit, despite her desire to remain anonymous as Jane Doe.

The lawsuit, filed in June, alleges that Diplo (Thomas Wesley Pentz) filmed their sexual encounters and shared them on Snapchat without consent. Judge Mónica Ramírez Almadani determined that the accuser failed to demonstrate a legal necessity for anonymity, despite the sensitive nature of the allegations.
"The court appreciates the plaintiff's allegations in her complaint are sensitive and of a highly personal nature," stated Judge Almadani, emphasizing that public interest in open judicial proceedings outweighs the request for anonymity in this case.
The accuser's attorneys, Margaret Mabie and Helene Weiss, expressed disappointment with the ruling, highlighting concerns about power imbalances and the permanent digital footprint such cases create for survivors. They noted that such decisions are becoming increasingly common in celebrity abuse cases.
Diplo's legal team welcomes the ruling, having argued that the DJ cannot properly defend himself against anonymous accusations. The artist has consistently denied all allegations in the lawsuit.
