A federal judge has denied Sean "Diddy" Combs' request for a gag order in his ongoing sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy case.

Judge Arun Subramanian rejected the motion, which would have restricted public statements from victims and their attorneys. The judge emphasized that while ensuring a fair trial is crucial, it must be balanced with First Amendment rights of those claiming to be victims.
Combs' legal team, led by attorney Marc Agnifilo, had argued that media coverage and statements by accusers' attorneys were prejudicing public perception. They claimed "shockingly prejudicial and false allegations" were threatening trial integrity.
The judge described a gag order as an "extreme remedy" that would inappropriately restrict speech from individuals who may not be trial participants. In his ruling, he noted that such measures should only be used as a last resort.
Separately, Combs' attorneys have renewed their request for his release on a $50 million bail bond, citing similar cases where defendants were granted release. The trial is scheduled for May 2025.
Combs maintains his innocence against all charges, which include allegations of operating a sex trafficking network.
