Jay-Z Faces Fresh Paternity Battle as Alleged Son Renews Legal Challenge
Jay-Z faces simultaneous legal challenges from a man claiming to be his biological son amid recent sexual assault allegations.
Rymir Satterthwaite, 31, has filed a new lawsuit on November 25 claiming that Jay-Z's legal team "acted fraudulently" during previous attempts to establish paternity. The lawsuit names several New Jersey courts and judges, including the state's Supreme Court, alleging violations of constitutional rights between 2012 and 2023.

Key details of the paternity case:
- Satterthwaite's mother, Wanda, claimed in a sworn affidavit that she had relations with Jay-Z (Shawn Carter) in 1992 when she was 16
- Satterthwaite was born in summer 1993
- Initial paternity case began in 2012 in Camden County, New Jersey
- Previous potential father Robert Graves was ruled out through DNA testing
- Case faced jurisdictional challenges between Pennsylvania and New Jersey courts
- Jay-Z's attorneys argued against New Jersey jurisdiction despite property records
The lawsuit alleges that Carter's legal team made false statements about his New Jersey residency to avoid a court-ordered paternity test. His attorney, Lise Fisher, later admitted to "misspeaking" about Carter's property ownership in the state.
Satterthwaite and his guardian, Dr. Lillie Coley, believe the resistance to paternity testing stems from Wanda's underage status at the time of conception. This legal battle continues as Jay-Z simultaneously faces separate allegations in an unrelated civil lawsuit regarding a reported incident from 2000.
